Solar Activity
Solar activity was at low levels with only minor C-class flares observed. Region 4154 (S15W50, Hsx/alpha) produced a C1.4 flare at 31/0242 UTC. Region 4153 (S29W61, Eao/beta) contributed the majority of the flares, including a C1.3 flare at 31/1020 UTC, a C1.5/Sf flare at 31/1453 UTC, and a C1.6 flare at 31/1852 UTC. Both of these regions remained mostly unchanged during the period. Region 4166 (N24W40, Dso/beta) exhibited growth during the period, yet remained mostly inactive. Newly numbered Region 4167 (N10W09, Cai/beta) exhibited growth during the period and produced a C1.9/Sf flare at 31/2159 UTC. The remaining regions were stable or in decay.
Solar Wind
The solar wind parameters were indicative of a near-background regime. Total field hovered near 8 nT with the Bz component fluctuating slightly between +/-6 nT. Solar wind speeds held steady near 430 km/s. Phi angle was predominantly negative.
Energetic Particle
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak flux of 1,104 pfu observed at 31/1355 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels throughout the period.
